Meet the People
Irena Dotcheva
Actor, Mollie Ralston
Irena is from Gabrovo, Bulgaria and is currently completing her degree in English Linguistics, America Literature, and Computer Linguistics. She hopes to pursue a career in either advertising or interpreting when she is finished with her studies. Her hobbies include rock climbing, dancing and she lives her life by the motto, “dance like nobody’s watching.” This is her first year with ACT.
Silke von Sehlen
Actor, Miss Casewell
Silke is from Saarbrücken and recently completed her studies at Uni and hopes soon to become rich and famous. In addition to her four years with ACT, Silke has also acted with the Hillsdale College Tower Players and at Marienschule Saarbrücken. Her hobbies include cooking, swimming, reading, and theatre.
Tamara Hausmann
Actor, Mrs. Boyle
Tamara is originally from Switzerland and moved to the Saarland in 1995. She is currently studying German, English and Phonetics. Tamara is a true theatre veteran and has been a member of ACT for “six long but exciting years!” Additionally, she has acted with theatre groups at her high school and church, as well as with Thunis at university. You may also recognize her from two small parts she had on television. Her hobbies include horseback riding, acting, swimming, and computer games. She would like to thank her boyfriend “for being sooo patient with our rehearsals and for helping me memorize my text.” Tamara would also like to make sure everyone knows that she is not usually as mean as her character, Mrs. Boyle.
Sandra Kolimbatović
Actor, Christopher Wren
Sandra is from Saarbrücken and is currently studying Philology. Upon completing her studies, Sandra hopes to become a language teacher. Although this is her first year with ACT, she was also in a school theatre group for several years. Sandra enjoys travelling, movies, and diving. She would like to thank the director “for her effort, patience and good mood and the rest of the group for making working together so much fun.”
Torsten Kopp
Actor, Major Metcalf
Torsten is from St. Ingbert and is currently doing Historically Oriented Culture Studies. He hopes to pursue a career with a museum, publishing, or urban development. His hobbies include music, literature, mod-culture, Scandinavia, tango, and jujutsu. This is his first year with ACT.
Štefan Pacinda
Actor, Giles Ralston
Štefan is from Prague and is currently studying Computer Science. After finishing his degree, he hopes to pursue a career as a software developer. Although this is his first year with ACT, Štefan also appeared onstage in plays with his high school theatre group. His hobbies include playing tennis and guitar and watching movies.
Valentin Popov
Actor, Mr. Paravicini
Valentin is from Stara Zagora, Bulgaria and is currently studying economics. Upon completing his degree, he hopes to get the best job he can. Valentin has been acting since childhood and has been a member of ACT for two years. His hobbies include football, reading and travelling. He would like to thank, “my close ones for the support” and to let everyone know that “ACTing macht Spass!”
Sven-Eric Schelhorn
Actor, Detective Sergeant Trotter
Sven-Eric is from Hamburg and is currently pursuing a PhD in Bioinformatics. While this is his first year with ACT, Sven-Eric also has experience acting in school. His hobbies include playing Ultimate Frisbee and acting.
Laurel E. Loch
Director
Laurel is originally from America and moved to Germany after falling in love with and marrying ACT’s Publicity and Marketing Assistant. She has a degree in Theatre from Hillsdale College and numerous years of acting, directing, and design experience. She is a two-time Irene Ryan Acting Award nominee, an award-winning make-up and wig designer, and was chosen as the Best Actress in the State of Indiana in 2005 for her role as Pidge in Cabin Fever. Other favorite roles include Catherine in Proof, Sabina in The Skin of Our Teeth, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, and Sunny in The Last Night of Ballyhoo. Laurel has acted on stages in America, Scotland and Germany. She would like to “thank the cast and production staff for all of their hard work.”
Robert Nicolas
Stage Manager
Robert is from Winnipeg and recently completed a degree in French Literature. He hopes to pursue an interdisciplinary career in diversity. This is his first year with ACT, but Robert also has experience with his high school theatre group as well as some stage managing experience with his university theatre group. His hobbies include music, photography, poetry and travelling. Robert would like to thank Bagels “for her patience and undying support throughout this creative process.”
Mirren Kate Augustin
Production Assistant
Mirren is from Oldenburg in Lower Saxony. She is currently studying French Culture Studies and Intercultural Communication with English as a secondary subject. After finishing her degree, she hopes to end up with a career somewhere near the stage. Mirren was a member of ACT from 2003-2006. Additionally, she has appeared in several French musicals, including a role as a singing Tibetan tortoise. Her hobbies include reading, going to the theatre, travelling and football. She would like to thank the director “for making ACT a serious business while it still remains fun.”
Achim Loch
Marketing and Publicity
Achim is from the Saarland and is currently completing his degree in American Studies, English Linguistics, and Religion. Upon completing his degree, he hopes to pursue either an academic career or something in the advertising field. Achim has several years of acting experience including roles abroad at Hillsdale College and also with a local Cabaret group. This is his second year with ACT. His hobbies include playing organ, movies, creating websites, and cooking. He would like to thank his “[insert positive superlative attributes: e.g. most wonderful, here] wife.”
Leigh Goodenough
Lighting Designer
Leigh is from Adelaide, Australia, where he studied Information Management and Sociology. Although he has minimal acting experience, Leigh has created stop motion animations, directed a short film, and also has experience with lighting and editing. His hobbies include writing and stop motion filmmaking. This is his first year with ACT. He would like to thank “Laurel for inviting me to join.”
Bagels the Beagle
Stage Mascot
Bagels is from the Saarland and is currently pursuing a career in general cuteness. She resides with ACT’s Director and Marketing and Publicity Assistant. Bagels enjoys eating, napping, sniffing, and overseeing rehearsals. She would like to “thank the cast for always sharing their pizza crusts with me on Saturday rehearsals.”
